Robert Pattinson begins ‘Water For Elephants’ in Los Angeles on May 22

After wrapping Bel Ami in Europe, Robert Pattinson is scheduled to begin filming Water For Elephants, along with Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz and now, it looks like we may finally have a start date for the project.

According to, “casting for supporting roles is now underway and filming is set to begin May 22, 2010 in Los Angeles.” They also list Denise Chamian as the Principal Actor Casting Director, you can find her contact information here. It is unknown who will be handling extras casting.

The movie is about a veterinary student who abandons his studies after his parents are killed and joins a traveling circus as their vet.

In the story, Robert’s character is attending Cornell University in Ithaca, NY when his parents are tragically killed. This has led to speculation they will also shoot in Ithaca this summer but no official announcement will be made until next month.

Tomorrow night, Rob will attend the London premiere of Remember Me at the Odeon Leicester Square.
