Though tickets for Thursday’s 30 Rock Live show have all been scooped up, there is still one more chance to be a part of the studio audience.
NBC will start handing out standby tickets at 8 A.M. on Thursday (10.14) at the 49th St. entrance of 30 Rockefeller Center in NYC.
If you want to try to get tickets, get there early, very early. They hand out standby tickets for SNL the same way and it is not unusual for people to begin lining up at 4 A.M.
But, be warned before you go that getting a standby ticket doesn’t guarantee you will get into the show. If you receive a standby ticket, they will give you a time to return before they start shooting the live show. If they have seats available after all of the tickets holders have been seated, they will begin seating those with standby tickets in the order in in which they were in line.
In other words, the earlier you get in line tomorrow the morning, the better your chance of actually getting into the show. We’ve also heard of standby ticket holders losing their spot if a celebrity shows up last minute and wants to see the show. So if you do get a standby ticket, don’t get too excited until you are seated in Studio 8H and the show is starting!
Also keep in mind that there is a limit of one ticket per person, and they are issued on a first-come, first-serve basis so if you want one for you and a friend, you both have to wait in line in the morning. Finally, here’s a couple tips for surviving the standby line: bring something to sit on, blankets, snacks and an umbrella!
If you do get in, it will be more than worth it! Rumor has it, both Jon Hamm and Matt Damon will making an appearance during the live show! The cast will perform the show twice, once for the east coast, then again for the west coast. They will also be rehearsing all day Thursday in studio 8H, Rockefeller Center, the same studio where SNL is filmed.
