Filming just started for Cowgirls N’ Angels (formerly Sweethearts and Angels) in Oklahoma but according to one of the film’s stars, its a “picture wrap” already.
The movie has been filming in Stillwater, Guthrie, Oklahoma City, and Pawnee for the past couple of weeks.
Cowgirls is “billed as a heartwarming movie that tells the story of Ida, a feisty and rebellious young girl, who has dreams of finding her father, a rodeo rider. While searching for her dad, she connects with the Sweethearts of the Rodeo, a team of young female rodeo riders run by former rodeo star Terence Parker. Recognizing Ida’s innate talent for trick riding, Terence recruits her for their ranks. Accepted wholeheartedly by her new “family,” Ida finds a new passion that redefines her life, and may also help her find the father she’s been searching for.”
The film stars Bailee Madison, James Cromwell, Alicia Witt, Frankie Faison, and Madison Burge.
And though he is not listed in the movie’s press materials, Twilight’s Jackson Rathbone was also a part of the cast. Last week he tweeted, “Back in the OKC! Time for a quick shower, and then heading to set for some Cowgirls & Angels filming! (..I still smell like yesterday..).”
On Saturday, the movie shot at the Pawnee Lakeside Arena in Pawnee.
