I just finished watching the pilot episode of Showtime’s House of Lies, which is now available online (you can check it out above), and can’t wait for more!
House of Lies follows Marty Kaan (Cheadle), the big-money earner at the consulting firm Galweather & Stearn, along with his hot, young team – The Pod – Jeannie (Kristen Bell), Clyde (Ben Schwartz) and Doug (Josh Lawson). Marty and The Pod’s work life is all first-class, top-shelf, black Am Ex, the best suites at the nicest hotels. Marty is the ultimate power player and under his direction, this ruthless, pull-no-punches team is here to stick it to the man by beating the corporate suckers at their own game.
In the first episode, The Gods Of Dangerous Financial Instruments, Marty and The Pod travel to New York to consult for MetroCapital, a bank trying to justify their year-end bonuses. But, Marty gets on the bad side of one of the bank’s top guys, Greg Norbert, in the process.
Back in L.A., Marty gets some unwanted advice on how to raise his son from his live-in father, when his son (Roscoe) decides to try out for the female lead in the school play, Grease.
House of Lies was filmed in Los Angeles earlier this year, with one week of on location filming in NYC for the New York scenes. The series debuts on January 8th, 2012.
