‘Iron Man 3’ begins filming in Florida!

The Iron Man 3 shoot officially moved  from Wilmington, N.C. to the Fort Lauderdale/ Miami, FL area today.

As we’ve reported, this week’s locations will include Coconut Grove, Pine Tree Drive between Dade Boulevard and 63rd Street in Miami Beach, and the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.

Originally, we heard the Vizcaya Museum shoot would take place today but thanks to one of our readers, @AbigailHutching, we’ve learned they are actually filming near the Dania Pier in Dania Beach, FL until 5:00 P.M.

Keep an eye out for Iron Man 3 filming in Florida this fall and be sure to let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com!

UPDATE: Today, Tuesday, Oct. 2, Iron Man 3 was expected to return to Dania Beach, but they were spotted early this morning (10/2) setting up on Pine Tree Dr in Miami Beach. Here is a video one of our readers took of the set:

    • Hey there. Do you happen to know exactly where along Pine tree dr. between dade blvd and 63rd st. theyre setting up? I’d actually like to stop by some time tomorrow ,but that’s quite the stretch and I don’t want to have to drive around aimlessly :\

  1. In North Carolina the casting website was CagedHeat Casting on Facebook, I am interested in an extra roll, if anyone has heard of any different arrangements – please let me know.

  2. I wish they would film in a city closer to Orlando..I would definitaley go and check it out but Miami is 4 hours away from here!

  3. With respect to director Shane Black and his incredible movie….I was an extra in this film at the Dania Beach fishing pier here—-and from what I clearly remember was that it was severely raining so hard that day they had to come back and shoot on another day…I was in arms reach of Don Cheadle and Robert Downey. I watched the entire movie twice and do not recall any footage that they filmed here being incorporated in the film. None of it! I wonder why? They must have cut out at least 12 hours of recording shoots. There were hundreds of extras; dozens of bikers too. I assume Shane Black didn’t want to use any of it. Congratulations on Mr. Black’s 1.3 billion dollar movie!
