On Wednesday, Nov. 28, the stars of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will finally walk the red carpet for the movie’s premiere in New Zealand where the movie was filmed.
In anticipation of the movie’s debut, New Zealand’s capital, Wellington, has issued two high profile art installations. Thirteen giant dwarfs and a giant hobbit which now line the fifth-story platform of the New Zealand Post House and a 40-foot-long, 1.2 ton sculpture of Gollum is currently greeting travelers as they arrive at the Wellington airport.
The government has also issued limited-edition, legal-tender coins marked with Gandalf’s face. And, as if that isn’t enough, Air New Zealand’s new safety video features elves, hobbits, wizards and a cameo from Gollum.
Of course, in addition to all the happenings in Wellington, set tours of Hobbiton are also in full swing!
