Julia Roberts, Mark Ruffalo, Matt Bomer, and Jim Parsons are set to begin filming the HBO movie The Normal Heart in NYC this week.
Julia Roberts will star as a paraplegic physician treating patients early in the AIDS epidemic in the stage-to-screen adaptation of the Tony Award-winning drama.
While Roberts will portray Dr. Emma Brookner, her co-star Mark Ruffalo will take on the role of Ned Weeks, an eyewitness to how the disease ravaged the city’s gay community.
Glee creator Ryan Murphy will direct the project which was adapted for the screen by the play’s original author, Larry Kramer.
According to one of our Twitter followers, @TheGirlsNY, filming permits for The Normal Heart are posted on Court St between Montague & Joralemon and at Remsen and Court St in Brooklyn for Sunday, June, 9.
