‘Fifty Shades of Grey 2’ begins filming in Vancouver in June

As the Fifty Shades of Grey movie finally hits theaters, there is news about the movies sequels tentatively titled Fifty Shades of Grey 2 and Fifty Shades of Grey 3. The movies will be based on E.L James books Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed. Director Sam Taylor-Johnson made the official announcement about the sequels at the movie’s premiere in New York last week.

Fifty Shades of Darker focuses on the relationship between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, while Fifty Shades of Freed shares details of the couple’s life after they are married.

It is no surprise the sequels have already been announced considering Fifty Shades of Grey was Fandango’s fastest selling advance ticket R-rated movie ever.

According to @lemon_buzz, Fifty Shades of Grey 2 will begin filming in Vancouver in June.

Did you see Fifty Shades this weekend? What did you think? Are you already looking forward to the sequels?

  1. I loved the first movie. Seeing the characters of Anastasia and Christian come to life, totally made my valentines. I am so very excited to hear that a sequel will be done. I hope they will be able to keep all original actors in second movie. Sequels with different actors, throws the series completely off.

  2. Saw the movie and loved it. Cannot wait for the next one and then the final one. I don’t know how many times I have read and reread the book. I will probably read them again before the next movie comes out.

  3. Jamie and Dakota were fantastic in FSOG. So glad they’re (and hopefully remaining actors) doing 2 and 3. Can’t wait to see remaining 2 books come to life!

  4. I loved the movie adaptation. While there were some key things changed and omitted, I think it was well done. I can’t wait for Darker and Freed to come out. I agree with others in that keeping the characters the same is important to keeping the people coming back. I can only think of one thing that needs to be perfected and that would be Christian’s eyes. They look almost black instead of gray.

  5. had I not read the book I would have love love loved the film however I was let down little by the flicking between scenes that seemed to miss large parts of the book out completely and what at been hyped as the most dirtiest film I felt was not the case, I am not saying the film was a total wash out but do feel it did not hold anything as good as the book

  6. I love the first movie so much. Certainly, I look forward to the 2 sequels. Hope they’ll be huge success, too. I think they filtering scenes from the books is absolutely rational cause the actors are human anyway, they have their own life, not just being Ana and Christian.

  7. I had to watch this movie several times to really understand the choices they made in what they left out of it that I thought was pretty central to the love story the book presented. While Dakota and Jamie weren’t my choices for the leads, after seeing the movie I see why they were chosen and I’m on board. I can’t see anyone else filling those roles now and I too believe it would wreck the movie to have anyone but the two of them in it. Dakota’s sense of playfulness and ability to really convey the pleasure Anastasia gets from the playroom is so important to understanding that Ana is really the one in charge. The nauseating posts I see on Facebook about how derogatory the books and film are towards women just makes me upset because they are usually from people who the love story has gone completely over their heads and are frequently from men who don’t have a clue. Jamie is so perfect with the childlike innocence that is so much a part of Christian Grey, yet he can hand out Christian’s dark side and go back and forth between the two as adeptly as the book did. I can’t wait to see the rest of the movies from this trilogy and look forward to the day they release the DVDs. I’d love to hear the commentary from Dakota and Jamie about what they experienced through the different settings. I know some of those while they were getting used to being around one another must have been awkward and I bet there are some really funny stories to tell. I’d also love to hear which eccentricities from their characters they thought were really important to relay to the audience while they were filming. Can’t wait for the next installment!
