‘Luke Cage’ season two begins filming in NYC

Thanks to one of our tipsters we’ve learned the second season of Luke Cage begins filming on in NYC in Tuesday, June 6.

The Netflix/Marvel series first began filming in New York City, under the code name Tiara, back in the fall of 2015. It was the third series in Marvel’s Netflix package – following Daredevil and Jessica Jones – to debut on streaming service last year.

Luke Cage stars Mike Colter as “a wrongly accused man who, granted super-strength by a sabotaged experiment, escapes prison to become a superhero for hire.” The first season of the show received 96% on Rotten Tomatoes and was called “a stellar sampling of the new Marvel/Netflix universe.”

Marvel’s The Defenders will be the next miniseries to air on Netflix. It will bring together all of Marvel’s Netflix heroes, including Iron Fist (Finn Jones) Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), and Luke Cage (Mike Colter), to protect New York City from its a great threat.

The show will also feature Sigourney Weaver as the villain, Alexandra, and several recurring guest stars from Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Marvel’s Luke Cage, and Marvel’s Iron Fist, including Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Scott Glenn as Stick, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing.

We’ve learned that Luke Cage is filming in studio at Broadway Stages in Brooklyn on Tuesday. If you spot Tiara signs around town or have any scoop about the movie, let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com!

  1. Hate to be that guy but;

    “to protect New York City from its a great threat.”

    I believe you meant to say “its greatest threat”.

  2. Great! 🙁 They will be around my block on Monday, June 26. What sucks is that we have problems looking for parking already, and now they are taking 4 blocks away from us. Where the heck I am going to park now?

  3. My gf and I live on Classon Ave in Crown Heights. This production has filmed at least a dozen times around the corner on Lincoln Place and several other streets in the area, displacing HUNDREDS of cars!! (including mine). It is infuriating to drive around looking for a spot, sometimes for 45 min to an hour, when it’s difficult to find parking to begin with! This city is starving for money, and clearly doesn’t give a shit about their residents! ????
